The aim of this project is to unlock quality, ‘move on’ accommodation within the private sector for those who have been victims of domestic abuse.

Our Beginning

SocialSense.jpg

Social Sense has a 10 year history of changing lives at scale. From improving attitudes to health to reducing violent crime, we have engaged more than 200,000 children, young people, families and professionals across our programmes.

Working in partnership is the heart of everything we do to ensure all voices are heard, programmes are co-produced and impacts are accurately measured.

We’re proud to be doing things differently.

Domestic Abuse charities are doing an incredible job in the face of increased demand. Now we must support them by making more ‘move on’ accommodation options available to individuals and families. The private sector offers significant potential to provide the quality, affordable options that are currently lacking. It’s time to unlock this potential to offer a greater number of quality spaces from where people can heal and grow.

About Us

The Moving On Project is a rethinking of how we can better support victims of domestic abuse post COVID 19 and the resulting lockdown.

Our consultations with domestic abuse charities and refuge centres have revealed both an increase in demand and an overwhelmingly short supply of suitable, safe accommodation for those who are fleeing abuse.

In providing more available, quality ‘move on’ accommodation for individuals and families, this project will create an immediate fresh start individuals and families and unlock crucial capacity for those who need it right now.
